Jeremiah 45:5 Do you seek great things for yourself?
Are you seeking God, or just what he can give you? Matthew 6:8 says that your father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. So why do you ask? So you may get to know him. Part of that is simply surrender, that you are not in charge and he is. Oswald Chambers says that “God ignores your present level of completeness in favor of your future completeness.” He can see the big picture, we cant. Think of when you were a little kid. You wanted sweets. But your parents knew that if you ate to many sweets your teeth would fall out and rot. So your parents would tell you know. Did it hurt right then, yes. You wanted it, but your parents knew what you needed long term. God is like that. The immediate satisfaction might be ignored for something God sees and knows in your future! He knows the plans he has for you. Ask him what those are!….
